The High Commission in Ottawa, Canada's Federal Capital, commenced operations on 3rd October, 1962 shortly after Trinidad and Tobago attained independence from Great Britain. The High Commission is the principal representational Office in Canada, and manages the bilateral political, economic (energy, trade, investment, tourism) and cultural relations with the federal Government of Canada, as well as with Provincial Governments.
